History

OJSC Giprokauchuk (Official partner of WCS ) is a legal successor of one of the oldest Design Institutes of Russia: State Design and Scientific Research Institute for Synthetic Rubber Industry awarded with a Red Banner of Labor that was established in October 1931. 

The first plants in the world for production of synthetic rubber and monomers were built at the beginning of 1930s in Yaroslavl, Voronezh, Efremov, Kazan as per the design developed by Giprokauchuk. The largest petrochemical complexes for production of monomers and other petrochemical products and polymers in Russia, Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary and China were also designed by Giprokauchuk. 

In 1961 Giprokauchuk was honored with the high USSR State Award of a Red Banner of Labor for substantial contribution to creation and development of the Russian industry of synthetic rubber and petrochemical synthesis. 

In 1994 the Institute was reformed into Open Joint Stock Company (OJSC) Giprokauchuk which currently comprises the headquarters in Moscow and the Complex Departments in Voronezh, Kazan, Ryazan and the engineering survey parties on the North and in Siberia.

Nowadays OJSC Giprokauchuk provides services on integrated design of chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas processing facilities and their infrastructure facilities (including power supply, water supply and sewage, heating and ventilation, aboveground and underground utilities, chemical agents and equipment storages, flare systems etc.), oil treatment , storage facilities, terminal stations and oil, LPG and highly flammable liquids storage facilities, port and railway terminals of LPG and highly flammable liquids, projects of oil field infrastructure development and main gas and oil pipeline projects, provides engineering services at the stage of construction and operation of the facilities etc.

Qualified staff and integrated management system, up-to-date computer resources and software combined with large experience and ownership of know-how in field of engineering design of chemical and petrochemical production facilities, comprehensive knowledge of Russian normative and regulatory documents and the Russian nomenclature of equipment and materials – all this gives OJSC Giprokauchuk the advantage at the engineering service market in Russia.

In 2006 OJSC Giprokauchuk was awarded with a I-st Degree Diploma “For the achievement of highly efficient results in company business in the modern economic environment” in the rating of 50 the best engineering design, engineering survey companies and enterprises of the similar profile in the Russian Federation.
